What to Expect.
What is worship like at House of Prayer?
House of Prayer offers a traditional worship service with music that is led on the organ or piano, with special anthems performed by our choir and bell choir. Quarterly, our music is led by the Praise Team, with several vocalists, guitars, piano, drums, and other instruments.
Are children welcome?
Absolutely. We have Children's Activity Bags available in the narthex that the kiddos can use during worship. If needed, your child is welcome to visit the nursery, where they will be supervised by our nursery attendant during the worship service.
What should I wear?
Some folks will be dressed in their Sunday best, others will come casual and comfortable. We encourage you to come as you are. All are welcome at House of Prayer!
Can I receive Holy Communion if I am not a member?
Yes. All who believe that Christ is truly present in the bread and wine of Holy Communion are invited to join us at the Lord's Table. Whether you are Catholic, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Baptist, or no denomination in particular, the one bread and one cup we share reminds us that our unity is found in the mercy of Jesus Christ. We are united in our need for forgiveness and in the grace given to us through the meal.
Will I be singled out as a guest?
House of Prayer does not specifically point out guests as part of our worship service, but we do make an effort to greet everyone and welcome our guests. We view visitors as friends we have not met yet!
