MEET OUR MINISTRY TEAM

Rev. Eric Youngdahl- Pastor

Eric was born in Lake Charles, LA and raised in Austin, TX. His first call was to House of Prayer in 2002 as Associate Pastor. In his four year tenure at House of Prayer, Eric was exposed to all areas of ministry and was instrumental in the relocation of the church to its new facility.

In the spring of 2006, Eric accepted his second call as Associate Pastor to Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, Minneapolis, MN.  At Mount Olivet, Eric's portfolio included being the Lead Pastor of the West Campus in Victoria, MN as well as the Pastoral Advisor to Children and Family Ministry.  In June 2018, Eric was called to be Senior Pastor at House of Prayer.

Eric's wife, Lindsay, is the Director of Athletics at The Awty International School.  They have three kids: Ford (8th grade), Landry (5th grade), and Miller (1st grade); and one dog- Maevis.

Elida (Eli) Lopez- Secretary

Eli has been an employee of House of Prayer since March 2003. Before coming home to House of Prayer, she worked at different businesses as an Admin while she accompanied her husband, a Lutheran Pastor, to the churches God had called him to serve. She is a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Angleton and a member of the Women of the ELCA group. She feels immensely blessed to have two church families to love and cherish.

Stephen Adkison- Youth Director

Stephen joined the ministry team in June 2019. He has lived in different parts of Texas his whole life, but graduated high school in the DFW suburb of Flower Mound. From there Stephen went to Baylor, where he graduated in 2017 with a University Scholar’s degree concentrating in Film and Philosophy. He fell in love with youth ministry spending his college summers working at Camp Timberline, a Christian sports and outdoors camp in Estes Park, Colorado. In his free time, Stephen can be found reading comic books and watching low-budget action movies.

Ginny Blasczyk- Organist

Ginny has been organist at House of Prayer since 1996. Ginny graduated Summa Cum Laude from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Organ Performance. She has been playing piano and organ in church since the age of 14. In 2000, she earned a teaching certificate and has taught Choir at Pearland Junior High West since 2001.  Her choirs have been consistent Sweepstakes and Superior ratings recipients at University Interscholastic League contests and each year many of her choir students are placed in the Junior High All Region Choir.

Ginny and her husband Jim moved from Wisconsin to Houston in 1982 and call Houston their home.  They have three grown sons: Corey, Michael, and James.

Tony Martinez- Music Director

Tony has brought with him to House of Prayer tremendous experience, a passion for music, and an eagerness to expand House of Prayer's music ministry. Tony has served in several Houston area churches. For twelve years, he served as the Director of Arts and Worship at St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Sugar Land. Under his direction, the music ministry expanded from one adult vocal choir to nine ensembles encompassing vocal and instrumental music, serving youth from age 4 through adult. Tony performs regularly in the Houston Grand Opera, he's an award winning composer, and he's known by many in the TX-LA Gulf Coast Synod.

Jennifer Townsend - Nursery Attendant

Jennifer was confirmed at House of Prayer, graduated from Sam Rayburn High School, and lives in Pasadena. She has worked in daycare for eighteen years. She currently works daily as a preschool teacher. At school, she does a "little bit of everything." She loves children and looks forward to participating in Sunday School, too! She shares that being House of Prayer's Nursery Attendant is like "coming back home." Welcome home, Jennifer!
