House of Prayer Lutheran Church in Clear Lake

The next CIA senior bus outing is Thursday, April 6 at Shangri La Botanical Gardens & Nature Center in Orange Tx. The Botanical Garden Tour is a walking tour of the formal Botanical Gardens led by a knowledgeable guide. The Outpost Tour is a short walk to a Nature Discovery Center where you will board an uncovered pontoon boat for a short ride on Adams Bayou to an outpost in the Cypress/Tupelo Swamp.

A box lunch will be served between the two tours in the Café. All are asked to meet at 8 am at the church. The cost is $25 and includes tours, lunch and bus donation. The trip must be reserved and paid in full by Sunday, March 26th. This is an outdoor adventure, so come prepared for the weather. Wear comfortable walking shoes, hat, sunscreen and water. No outside food is allowed other than water. If interested in attending call Diane Meyer. Order your box lunch using this form and send to Diane Meyer

HOUSE OF PRAYER IS GROWING IN FAITH, DISCIPLES, AND LOVE!

House of Prayer's motto and guide for servanthood is "Grow in Faith, Make Disciples, Serve in Love.

It continues to bless our lives today! The special Congregation meeting held on Sunday, February 12th was to vote on calling Pastor DJ Dent, Jr. to be House of Prayer’s next Pastor.
HoP overwhelmingly voted to extend a call! Victor Johnston, Council President, spoke to Pastor DJ later that day and Pastor DJ accepted! This is Pastor DJ’s Acceptance Letter

Here is an excerpt from a message sent out from Council President Victor Johnston: “House of Prayer will be finalizing the details on the Dent family’s move to Texas....Thank you for your support throughout this process, and in particular for respecting the confidentiality involved. Together, with your prayers, the hard work of our Call Committee, and God’s guiding hand, we have reached a significant milestone. More to follow shortly.”

LENT AT HOUSE OF PRAYER LUTHERAN CHURCH

ASHES TO GO WAS A HEART HEALING AND SPIRIT-LED DAY!
Wednesday, March 1st was a day of placing God's redeeming grace on every heart who came forward to receive it. See you in the parking lot next year! Click HERE to see our Facebook album. The pictures were uploaded in reverse order; start from the last and work your way up. :)
"So the last will be first and the first will be last!" Matthew 20:16

SERVICES AT 7PM EVERY WEDNESDAY IN LENT
Our Lenten journey began on Ash Wednesday, March 1, with a traditional liturgy at  7 p.m. It has continued every Wednesday in Lent with a singing of Holden Evening Prayer at 7 p.m. A brief devotion is shared that explores the meaning of The Lord’s Prayer; focusing on the individual petitions each week. Holden Evening Prayer is a brief but beautiful setting of Evening Prayer.
We hope many of you will join us on these evenings. Only one Wednesday remains; April 5 that will discuss "But Deliver Us from Evil" with our new Pastor, DJ Dent! Please come explore The Lord's Prayer impact on your faith life and welcome Pastor DJ at the same time.
